When Love Coens to Town Part 4

Access Restored

Read: Romans 4:25-5:11; 2 Peter 1:3-4

Imagine this: You belong to a prestigious family, yet find yourself incarcerated in a third-world country. Access is denied to the resources you need—communication, finances and political leverage all hopelessly out of reach. At the mercy of a banana republic, you’re abandoned to languish in a squalid cell. One morning, your cell door creaks open, there stands your father waving documents securing your freedom! In mere moments, you stumble from squalor into sunlight-- a chopper awaits whisking you away to freedom, because your father secured your release.

What a picture of how Jesus rescued us! Trapped in hopelessness due to our rebellion, we languished in darkness. With access denied to the God Who saves, we were at the mercy of evil.  Suddenly, Jesus burst through our cell door, delivering the full payment for our release—in His own blood. In an instant, access was restored, and the world was forever changed!

Since Jesus secured our freedom, restored communication and access to the spiritual storehouses, what was impossible, is now within reach. Intimate friendship between humanity and Almighty God is now a reality for all who believe. Access to divine resources now empowers us. With communication lines restored, we have direct access to God in prayer; intimate friendship with God is simply a prayer away.

Something to Ponder

He longs to walk in intimate friendship with you. He died to make this access possible. What you seek is simply a prayer away.
